Lea Michele Under Fire for Another Sexy Mag Cover

1296853914_lea-290.jpgLast year she took heat for posing in her panties in G, and now Lea Michele is drawing criticism for another racy photo shoot.
On the March cover of Cosmopolitan, the Glee star, 24, shows skin in a black top with a neckline plunging nearly to her belly button. And parents, whose children are fans of the Fox hit about a high school vocal club, are none to pleased with the pics, according to FoxNews.com.
"I think Lea Michele is sending the wrong message. She plays such a 'good girl' on Glee and a lot of kids look up to her persona. Then she poses very provocatively on two magazine covers which makes my almost-13-year-old son very confused and offended," New York mom Kim Trefcer told the conservative news site. "I find it frustrating as a parent who is trying to teach right from wrong to their kids and then you have things like this happen which is showing middle schoolers things like sex sells and all that goes along with that."

Hot tips for lips... from the world's top make-up worlds-make-artist

CHOOSE AN  ENERGISING COLOUR

Colour is important and can put you in a good mood all day. If you are short of time to do your make-up in the morning, just make sure you apply a bright lipstick. Red looks great — as does a bright pink or a coral. I prefer deep, pure reds with no trace of pink in them.
For instant energy, try L’Oreal Paris’s new Colour Riche Made For Me Intense in 373 Magnetic Coral, £8.16 (Boots). The colour lives up to its name — it is highly pigmented and has a matte, flat finish. This makes your face look alive, even if you are not wearing any other make-up.
MY TIP FROM MADONNA
I got a great tip from Madonna, who taught me to use a short-haired rounded brush for applying lip colour (previously I had always used a long, retractable brush) for an intense finish. MAC has some great short-haired brushes (316 Lip Brush, £15, maccosmetics.co.uk).
TONING IT DOWN
If you are worried about colour being too bright, apply neutral colour to the lips first by applying a light covering of foundation to the lips.
It will neutralise the  natural lip colour and will help the colour last longer.
Also add a touch of powder (L’Oreal Paris True Match Powder, £8.19, Boots) over the top of the lipstick for a flatter lo

How to Use Fashion Tape

What exactly can be done with this stylistic life-saver?
Create false lapels on a cardigan: This is what I’m doing an admittedly crappy job of showing you in the photo up top. If you’ve got a crewneck cardigan and would rather that the top flaps sit open, fold them backwards to create the look of false lapels, and tack the little triangles of sweater to the body of the cardigan using fashion tape. This works best if the bottom half of the cardigan is buttoned.
Tack down a button-down shirt collar: Since I generally shun the iron, I get some pretty wacky-looking shirt collars. And since I prefer to wear necklaces with my button-downs, it helps to spread the collar wide. Determine how much of a v-neckline you want to create, and tape the collar to the shirt body.
Keep the end of a belt in place: Oh, I know that tucking your loose, floppy belt-end under the belt itself is all the rage. And I actually adore this look. But it doesn’t work for every style of belt, and it doesn’t look right with every outfit. Fashion tape can be used to tack the loose end of a belt to the body of the belt. I’ll admit that I’m loathe to do this with super supple or expensive belts even though the tactic has never harmed leather, plastic, or cloth … better safe than sorry. But with less dear waist-cinchers? Go for it.
Secure a wrap top: Since I am small-of-boob, anything with a wrap top – be it false or true – just sags sadly about my girls. The wrapping effect itself, however, looks elegant and chic on my torso. So I employ fashion tape to eliminate the gape. My preference is to tape fabric to fabric, but sometimes it’s easier to tape fabric to breastbone. The sensation isn’t uncomfortable so much as odd, and after a few minutes I generally forget the tape is even there.
Make a neckline more modest: Many plunging necklines have some slack fabric around the opening that can be tightened or gathered to decrease the plunge. Fashion tape is often more effective at closing up the neckline than safety pins, since it holds closed a larger area and holds it closed flat.
Temporarily repair a hemline: I thrift. A lot. And occasionally a skirt or dress will begin to unravel at the hem quite unexpectedly. And while the aforementioned safety pins work in a pinch, fashion tape is often more secure and effective. It’s saved me from frayed hems dozens of times!
Seal a button-down shirt: This style of shirt was originally designed for men, so many versions still fight our female forms. Women with large breasts definitely struggle, but even my b-cup bust creates gaping in some styles. One piece of fashion tape between the pulling buttons can work wonders.

Survey Reveals Women in Charlotte, on Average, Are Exposed to Over 20 Potentially Harmful Chemicals and Irritants Through Daily Skin Care Regimens

"Despite the growing demand for healthier food products that are devoid of artificial ingredients, antibiotics and other unnecessary additives, most people just don't question or even understand the long list of chemical ingredients in the products that they apply to their skin every day," said M'lou Arnett, chief operating officer and co-founder of Scerene Healthcare, Inc., developer of Puristics™ personal care products.
Two years ago, Arnett and her business partner, Bob Casale, set out to develop a line of personal care products for everyday life that were as safe to use as they were effective.  This month, North Carolina is one of three exclusive U.S. markets where Puristics™ personal care products – Puristics Totally Ageless™ skin care, Puristics Pure Protection™ feminine products and Puristics Baby creams and lotions – are now available throughout the state in Rite Aid and Harris Teeter stores, and nationally online through
"We think it's important for consumers to consider what they're putting into and onto their bodies, and to understand that they don't have to give up effectiveness in order to get pure products," said Arnett. "Our clinical study results were really exciting and prove that impressive results can be achieved without the use of potentially harmful chemicals or irritants."
Specifically, an independent testing lab found a measurable reduction of fine lines and wrinkles in 100 percent of the women participating in the clinical trial after just three weeks of using Puristics Totally Ageless Advanced Skin Rejuvenating Lotion.

Fashionistas Utilize New Deals

"When I first started GLAM Gyrlz, it was as a nationwide blog offering fashion and beauty tips to women all over the United States. After a while I noticed that my most popular posts were those in which I documented a shopping trip around Tallahassee," said Mahogany Butler, founder of GLAM Gyrlz. "Unfortunately, many of our readers could not take advantage of the deals I would find locally, so the idea to build local chapters was born."
GLAM Gyrlz is a social networking site where women around Tallahassee can connect through their passion for fashion. With a membership, there is a discount card that will grant exclusive deals and promotions at different local fashion and beauty businesses.
Nyla Manning, a 26-year-old graduate of Taylor Tech Institute from Defuniak Springs, Fla., said she found out about the business through a friend and decided to get a membership.
"I love to shop and I love a great deal. The rewards of participating with GLAM Gyrlz provide an incentive to both shop and save," said Manning. "You usually hear about discount cards to restaurants and miscellaneous shops. Now we finally have something dedicated to fashionistas."
"GLAM Gyrlz appeals to fashionistas on a budget that are fashion enthusiasts, shoe lovers and cosmetic junkies. Our biggest following seems to be teenagers and college students in the Tallahassee area," said Butler.
GLAM Gyrlz has partnered with ten different businesses that the members can receive discounts from. Some of these businesses are Shoe Lounge in the Governor's Square Mall, Fashion House Boutique and Dons-N-Divas Couture.
"Our business merchants understand the value of being a part of a network that basically puts them right in front of their target market. Many businesses in Tallahassee lack an online presence; GLAM Gyrlz gives them this and so much more,"

Four Tips for Women Helping Aging Parents

President and CEO of Women & Co., Linda Descano, has four tips to offer women who are thinking of diving into this conversation with their parents:
1. Know where your parents’ important documents are and ensure that they have the three most important documents in place: a living will, a durable power of attorney and a health care proxy.
2. Engage your parents in a discussion, with a financial advisor, to determine: their current assets and income, their current debt and spending (rent or mortgage payments, fees incurred when accessing retirement accounts, etc.), percentage of assets that are liquid, plans for covering medical and care-giving costs (Medicare, long–term care insurance, etc.).
3. Along with a financial planner, determine where they need help. Give your parents’ materials and identifying resources to assist them in addressing any issues.
